Imagine two cars drag racing side by side trying not to cross the dividing line between opposing lanes. A simple line creating a balance between speed and utter chaos. As a young artist in today’s society I feel that I am riding the fine line between the past and the present, trying to bring old ideas into new light through graphics and prints. The bright colors, fast moving cars, and the clean lines of the 60’s and 70’s inspire my artwork.

Each piece of work that I create utilizes the vivid colors from the 60’s and 70’s, along with the style and subject matter from this period. My work is moving more towards the simplistic shapes and outlines used in logos and the handwritten typefaces from the 60’s. However, each of my designs and silkscreens are unique because they are hand drawn first, then transferred onto the computer and drawn again. Unlike the sign and car painters from the past, I use my computer and design skills to create vintage lettering and imagery. Much like the signs and logos painted on the drag racing cars, my work requires a steady hand and a keen eye for detail to create clean lines and stunning imagery. My love for vintage cars and racing memorabilia is also visible in all of my prints and designs. Much of my work focuses on the past, as if to slow down the present, riding on the fine line between the fast moving and chaotic world that we live in today.
